Biomet Signs Manufacturing License Agreements
in
USA and Italy.

To satisfy the increasing rate of acceptance of biometric readers in new market sectors, Biomet Partners has signed Manufacturing License Agreements with two of its most active OEM Partners over the past years, Accu-Time Systems, Inc. in the USA and Tonali S.p.A. in Italy.

Both Licensees are committed to grant fast, reliable and continous service to customers in their respective geographic areas, with the added benefit of readily available local support.

The product currently manufactured by the licensees is Biomet's new generation FingerFoto camera module, taking advantage of latest technology componentry available, including a high resolution camera chip, faster processor and high-precision optical alignment techniques, to further improve on performance, reliability and speed of operation of our already well proven products.

New Generation Models of our FingerFoto Cameras are Compatible Physically and Electronically with Existing Installed Biomet Systems/Networks.

Highlights Of Some Current Customer Programs:

AAirports. Our Strategic Partner Fortress UK (www.fortressgb.com), in cooperation with ICTS, a well established specialist in airport security, is installing passenger identity systems in several major airports in the USA and Europe. The system combines the use of smartcards to register, encrypt and verify the 3-dimensional profiles of 2 fingers of either hand of the passenger. The initial installations at London's Gatwick airport, Newark International, Frankfurt, Schiphol Amsterdam and Ezeiza International Airport Buenos Aires have been well received in terms of passenger convenience, fool-proof accuracy and low systems cost per thousand passengers because of the high/fast throughput of passengers (and crew) per entry

ATime & Attendance. In China, Biomet has signed a Strategic Partner Agreement to supply FingerFoto cameras to a major manufacturer of T+A Systems. The initial order is for several hundred cameras to replace fingerprint scanners because of the high percentage of people in Asia (up to 18%) not having scanable fingerprints.

AHigh Security. Our Italian Partner is installing Biomet's 2-finger biometric cameras in more than 2000 Italian Post Offices for fast, user-friendly entry via "man trap" employee doors.

AMining. A new Biomet partner is installing Biomet-based 2-finger identity authentication systems to secure access and departure of workers at Platinum, Gold and Coal mines of one of the largest corporation worldwide, having confirmed the advantages of Biomet's geometric finger technology in the biometrically hostile mining environment.

ATransportation. A major operator in Brazil is integrating 2-finger verification on their fleet of buses to control use of season tickets and special passes.

AMilitary Security. Projects with the US Department of Defense involve protection of weapons areas, computer facilities, and prisoner control.

AEntry Verification for Season Pass Holders: Theme Parks in the USA are using Biomet's 3-dimensional finger geometry technology to verify the identity of Season Pass Holders at the entry gates to their parks.
